“Al Russo is a Frank Sinatra enthusiast, accountant by day, entertainer by night, husband, father, foodie, and advocate for pursuing life passions.
From the early 70’s, when Al was just a twenty-something, he’d occasionally get up to sing at a wedding or family event. Fast forward to 2002, after surviving pancreatic cancer and then being diagnosed with diabetes, Al turned to song to get his mind off of his stressful health condition.
Subsequent to pioneering in the Northern Jersey karaoke scene, Al’s first recording was played at a well-known Italian restaurant in his hometown of Paterson, NJ. When his voice was mistaken for Sinatra himself, he was inspired to take his singing career further. From performing at Little Sisters of The Poor to singing at a friend’s wedding at West Point, Al has developed his own unique tribute to Frank Sinatra.
Al has collaborated with some legendary entertainers-including Uncle Floyd-and is honored to receive an annual invitation to join nearly two dozen tri-state area Sinatra singers for a holiday dinner at Patsy’s in NYC. Al really loves connecting with other performers and audiences big or small.
At press time, Al’s favorite song is “Let Me Try Again”. Although math was always his best subject, he can’t provide the exact number of times he has sung “New York, New York”–though he estimates its in the thousands. He currently lives, loves, and plays, in the tri-state with his wife, Robin, and enjoys visiting their two daughters, Rachel and Christine.”
